Hi Kris, thanks for the comment. Yes, I think this is pretty simple if you want to do a simple/quick mass rename. If you are doing anything more advanced Total Commander looks like a good option. I came across this: http://beerpla.net/2008/03/12/mass-renaming-directories-and-files-using-total-commander/ that looks like a great reference for this.

Is it simply? The simpliest way: Total Commander & ctrl+M :)

Very well put together and wonderful library sir! Exactly what I was looking for.

That said though, what's the license on the package? In the code there's reference to a COPYING file but it's not a part of the archive so it's a little unclear.

--edit--
It looks like there's license info within the main class file "cfiles.php". And a very liberal license too! Thanks so much sir.

Thanks,
Eric

How I deal with passwords is somewhat like this:
$pw   = $user_id.$password.$last_login
$len  = strlen($pw)-1;
$hash = "";

for($i = 0; $i <= $len; ++$i)
{
    $hash = hash('sha512', $hash.$pw[$i]);
}

So when they register, you get their user id and update the last login time to current date/time and store $hash in the password field.

Each time the login, you update the last login field and rehash their password.
